Q: What is Direct Hire Recruiting?

A: Direct Hire Recruiting is when an agency such as Staten Spur is involved in the hiring process for a full-time employee that will become a permanent employee of the client. The agency manages the job posting, recruiting, and screening of potential candidates. The candidate goes directly to the client’s payroll once officially hired to receive a permanent position, benefits, insurance, and possible retirement plan.

Q: Do I need my own Motor Carrier Authority to get a job?

A: No. It all depends on the job you are seeking. For example, you may need your own authority if you are seeking assistance with finding a Owner Operator position.

 

Q: What kind of freight can you book for me to haul?

A: We do not provide transportation or freight brokering services.

Q: What kind of construction equipment do you use?
A: We do not provide construction equipment for any job.

Q: Do you provide driver or equipment operator training?
We do not provide occupational training. Prior to hire date we will require each candidate to complete an up-to-date workplace safety course and/or defensive driving

Q: Are you a carrier?
A: No. We are an employment placement agency. We find jobs for Class-A, Class-B, and non-CDL drivers and recruiting for companies that need skilled drivers.

Q: What kind of information do I need to apply for a job?

A: Be prepared to submit or tell us about the following:

  • Social Security Number

  • Home address history for the past 3 years

  • Current driver license number and driver license history for the past 3 years

  • Current certifications (if required)

  • Employment history up to 10 years

  • History of traffic accidents, violations and/or convictions from the last 3 years (including DUI or reckless driving conviction and license suspension)

  • Military history (if applicable)

Q: Will you broker my load?

A: No. We assist drivers with finding driving jobs, ONLY.

Q: What are the minimum requirements to get a job?

A: We prefer that you have a solid MVR, stable work history, and excellent safety record. Depending on the job you are applying for, verifiable experience is usually mandatory.
